If your CleverSpa® is not heating or reaching the set temperature, please follow the below steps to try and remedy the problem.
General advice
If your CleverSpa® is struggling to reach your desired temperature, this is most commonly due to the lack of insulation, not a fault with your CleverSpa®. If you would like to learn how to insulate your CleverSpa®, please read the information provided in How can I insulate my CleverSpa®?
For accurate results, please ensure you are measuring the temperature by placing a thermometer near the water outlet - not the centre of the hot tub.
Please DO NOT use an extension cable, as this can be a fire risk and can cause issues with your hot tub. We recommend using an external mains socket that is weatherproofed and professionally fitted. If you are using an internal mains socket, ensure that the power cable is not running through any windows or doors.
If your control panel is illuminating but not heating, turn off the CleverSpa® at the mains socket, remove the RCD plug from the socket and wait 10 seconds. Plug the RCD back into the mains socket and check to see if an error code has appeared on the control panel. If it has, please click here for further assistance.
Is your CleverSpa® not heating?
Have you tried removing your filter and thoroughly cleaning it before replacing it? Have you seen our Filter maintenance advice? Remember: Sun cream, fake tan, soap etc can force the filter to work much harder.
After cleaning your filter, does your CleverSpa® still not heat?

Is your CleverSpa® still not heating?
If applying a new filter has not resolved the issue, please turn the pump off and get your garden hose pipe and run some water through the filter inlet hole and outlet hole. This should remove any limescale or debris. Use a net to collect and remove any loose particles. Turn the CleverSpa® back on (without the filter to test the CleverSpa® is functioning).
- Press Temp and Key in your desired temperature
- Press Temp and Press Heat
- Place on your top cover
Once completed, leave the CleverSpa® running for a couple of hours, the water temperature should start to rise. If this resolves the issue, please apply a brand-new filter.
